Cumberland—Ann Lee Schwenninger, 72, of Cumberland, passed away on Sunday April 2, 2017 at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore.
Born in Cumberland, MD on November 21, 1944, she was the daughter of the late James and Minnie Shaw. Ann graduated from Allegany High School, class of 1962. Following high school, Ann became a nursing assistant. She was employed at Lions’ Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center until her retirement. She had worked at Lions’ Manor for over 20 years.
Ann loved to read, enjoyed hatch hooks, and loved Fort Hill High School football. She was also a Pittsburgh Steelers Football fan. Ann had an outgoing personality, and she was able to make friends wherever she went.
Ann is survived by her husband of 49 years, Leo H. Schwenninger; three children, John L. Schwenninger, Saudi Arabia, Betsy Schwenninger, Cumberland, and Samuel J. Schwenninger, Cumberland; and grandson, William “Willie” Leo Weaver.
At Ann’s request she will be cremated. She also has requested there be no service or visitation.
