CUMBERLAND – Bertha Loraine Green, 83, of Yale Street, in Cumberland, passed away Saturday, June 10, 2017, at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center, after a short illness.
Born May 26, 1934, in Cumberland, Bertha was the daughter of the late Charles E. and Bernice (Crothers) Keplinger. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Allen R. Green; and sisters, Beulah Fetters, Virginia Cowgill, Arvella Hinkle, and Carolyn Keplinger.
Bertha was employed in the laundry department of the Cumberland Holliday Inn until her retirement. She was an avid crocheter and loved making gifts for everyone, including hats for infants and cancer patients. Bertha was dearly loved by her family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and will be forever missed.
Surviving are her daughters, Donna Fishel and husband Rick, Cumberland, Carol Butler and husband Ray, Cumberland, and Joy Smith and husband Jimmy, Wiley Ford; son, Jim Moore, Cumberland; grandchildren, Ronald E. Fetters, Jr. and wife Kim, Jeremy M. Fetters and wife Nikki, Sabrina L. Crawford and husband Donald, Renee Ann Butler, Shaun Clayton Smith and fiancée Heather Glantzer, James F. Moore, Jr., and Jason A. Moore; great-grandchildren, Jason, Kristen, Craig and wife Cheyanne, Daniel, Brandon, Matthew, Paige, Alex, Julie, Riley, Thomas, Ryan, Scott, and Lucas; great-great-grandchildren, Emmora, Aeri, Dante, Namine, and Steven; and sisters, Betty Gibson, Cumberland, and Beneda Cowgill, Ridgeley.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Avenue, Cumberland, on Thursday, June 15, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home at 1 p.m.
