Cumberland—Betty Lou Donahoe, 87, of Cumberland, passed away on Friday, March 31, 2017, at the Lions Center.

Born in Cumberland, on January 29, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Thelma Zea (Sonner) and Casper B. Thomas. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Nancy Brison. Betty Lou was a graduate of Fort Hill High School. She was employed at the Celanese Corp. for over 20 years in the Beaming Department. She had served her country for a short period of time as a member of the United States Army. A Christian, Betty Lou loved her Lord. She was skillful with arts and crafts, loved puzzle books, and enjoyed her great-grandchildren.

Betty Lou is survived by two daughters, Trinia Miller and husband Don, Elmer, NJ, and Pama (Hart) Wilson, Cumberland; grandchildren, Matthew Miller and wife Patty, Port Charlotte, FL, Jonathan Miller and wife Louise, Elmer, NJ, and Casey Getz and husband Jason, Ft. Ashby, WV; great-grandchildren, Kiersten Getz, Savannah Getz, and Liam Miller; brother, Donald Ward Thomas, Jacksonville, NC, Robert Thomas, Washington, DC; and sister, Linda DeDad, Rockville, MD.

Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Avenue, Cumberland, on Wednesday, April 5, 2017 from 11 A.M. to 12 P.M. The Funeral Service will be conducted at Noon at the funeral home with Pastor Everett Spence officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park.

Those wishing to honor Betty Lou’s memory may make contributions toward her funeral expenses at Scarpelli Funeral, P.A., 108 Virginia Avenue, Cumberland, MD  21502.  Betty Lou’s family would like to express their gratitude for the kind, compassionate care given to her during her stay at the Lion’s Center.
