CUMBERLAND—Blanche F. Getz, 96, of Cumberland, passed away on Friday, September 15, 2017, at the Diakon Senior Living-Ravenwood Campus in Hagerstown, MD.

Born November 16, 1920 in Grant County, WV, she was the daughter of the late Homer and Mabel (Hott) Feaster. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Paul L. Getz; her son, Thomas Getz; two sisters; and two brothers.

Mrs. Getz was a homemaker. She was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church, and was a Sunday School teacher for 53 years. Mrs. Getz also enjoyed crochet, quilting, and reading.

Surviving are one daughter, Andra Gross and husband George; daughter-in-law, Jane Getz; four grandchildren, Mark Getz, Cathy Smith, Michael Gross, and Ann Reed; six great-grandchildren, Shea, Sara, Olivia, Lucy, Kasey, and Max; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Avenue, Cumberland, on Friday, September 22, 2017 from 10 to 11 a.m.

Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday at 11:00 a.m. with the Reverend Harold R. McClay, Jr. officiating.

Interment will be in Hillcrest Burial Park next to her husband.

The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Allegany County League for Crippled Children, 12501 Willowbrook Road, Cumberland, MD 21502 in Mrs. Getz’s name.
