CUMBERLAND— Charles Joseph Will, 88, of Cumberland, passed away on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at home.

Born October 15, 1929 in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Alphonsus L. and Mary (Fochtman) Will.  He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

Charles was a United States Veteran and served in the Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Schmidt’s Bakery after twenty-five years of service. Charles was a member of Our Lady of the Mountains Roman Catholic Parish, Saint Mary’s Catholic Church, where he was the Eucharistic Minister at the church. He was also a member of the Oldtown V.F.W. Charles loved gardening and planting flowers. Above all, he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Jo (Haselberger) Will; two sons, Stephen J. Will, Ellicott City, and Peter D. Will and wife Connie, Venetia PA; three daughters, Martha A. Huff and husband Rick, Clementon NJ, Therese L. Michael and husband James, Frederick, and Jennifer R. Chong and husband Steve, Cherry Hill NJ; and nine grandchildren.

In accordance with his wishes, he will be cremated.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Mountains, Saint Mary’s Catholic Church, 300 E Oldtown Road, Cumberland on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at 10:00 a.m.

Inurnment will be in Saint Mary’s Cemetery.

Military Honors will be accorded by the Fort Cumberland Post 13 Honor Guard.

The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations in Mr. Will’s memory may be made to the WMHS-Hospice, 12500 Willowbrook Road, Cumberland, MD 21502.
