RIDGELEY WVA- Colin Roy Detrick Sr., 81, of Ridgeley, WVa., passed away on Sunday, January 29, 2017, at Devlin Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation.

Born on April 15, 1935, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Chester and Velma (Martin) Detrick.  He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Juanita Detrick; and his sister, Phyllis Lechliter.

Colin was a United States Veteran, serving his country in the Army.  He was employed by Hercules Inc., which later became ABL and ATK over the years.  Colin was a basketball referee for 40 years and coached the Hot Stove League for many years.  He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Surviving are his wife, Dorothy Detrick; his two daughters, Cindy Hartman and husband Jeffrey, and Deborah Detrick; his three sons, Colin R. Detrick Jr., Lyn Detrick and wife Holly, and Von Detrick; one sister, Marlene Wolfe; one brother, Keith Detrick; five grandchildren, Jessica Hartman Twigg, Joshua Hartman, Michayla Detrick, Lake Detrick, and Colin Roy Detrick III; three step-children, Paul Thompson, Paulette Johnson, and Ronda Ralston; and several step-grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Wednesday, February 1, from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.

A Funeral Service will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday, February 2, at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Dr. Brian Detrick officiating.

Interment will be in Fort Ashby Cemetery.

Graveside Military Honors will be accorded by the Post 13 Veteran’s Honor Guard.
