Bowling Green, Cumberland—Cynthia “Cindy” Humbertson, 62, of Bowling Green, Cumberland, passed away on Wednesday, April 26, 2017, at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center.

Born in Cumberland, MD, on February 12, 1955, she was the daughter of the late James and Edith (Harbaugh) McNabb.  Cindy was a graduate of Bishop Walsh High School, class of 1973.  Following high school, she attended Catherman’s Business School.  Cindy was a Certified Ophthalmology Executive, being only one of 200 people to achieve this distinction.  In this capacity, Cindy gave a lecture to the students at Yale University on the field of Ophthalmology.  While in school, Cindy was a competitive swimmer.

Cindy was employed as the office manager in the office of ophthalmologist Dr. Elizabeth Jackson.  She later was employed as the office manager of Dr. Robert Gladston’s Ophthalmology practice.  She was also employed in the same capacity in the office of Dr. Kenneth Pompillo.

Cindy was a member of the Cumberland Woman’s Business Association.  She was an active member of the National Democratic Polital Party.  She work for the Democratic Presidential Candidate in North Carolina and Ohio.

Cindy was an artist who enjoyed reading historical novels.  She was a fabulous cook, and she loved her dogs, Muffin and Sparky

Cindy is survived by her husband, William E. Humbertson; two sons, Sean M. Crabtree and wife Shaina, Bowling Green, and Eric S. Crabtree and wife Julia, Fayetteville, NC; step-sons, W. Chris Humbertson and wife Lisa, LaVale, Rodney E. Humbertson, LaVale, and Tate E. Humbertson, LaVale; step-daughter, Lori L. Thompson, LaVale; grandchildren, Tierney R. Crabtree, Macie A. Crabtree, and Eric A. Crabtree; step-grandchildren, Savannah Humbertson, Donovan Martin, Makena Humbertson, Jared Bittner, Peyton Thompson, Courtney Humbertson, and Tate Humbertson; brother, Stephen McNabb and wife Rosemary; sisters, Mary Louise McNabb and Dawn G. Hebb; step-sister, Sharon Menges; step-brother, Dale  Hebb; and brother-in-law, Greg Humbertson and wife Corrie.

At Cindy’s request, she will be cremated.  Friends will be received at the Scarpelli funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Avenue, Cumberland, on Monday, May 1, from 1-2 P.M.  A Memorial Service will be conducted at the funeral home at 2 P.M.
