David Timothy Ortt Jr., 42, of Cumberland, passed away on Sunday, October 8, 2017 at his home.

Born in Baltimore, MD on April 17, 1975, he was the son of Rebecca Sue (Morris) Ortt and the late David Timothy Ortt, Sr. In addition to his father, David was also preceded in death by his son, Anthony Isaac Ortt; maternal grandparents, Cosby Kenneth and Gertrude “Trudy” Morris; and cousin, Lindsey Nicole Morris.

David was a graduate of Frankfort High School, class of 1994, where he was a star football player. He was currently unemployed when he passed after being involved in a terrible accident at work 18 months ago. When he was employed, he was a brilliant Telecommunications Lead Technician. David truly excelled at anything he set out to do. Unfortunately, after his accident and all of the medication he had to take, the pain he truly suffered from depressed him a great deal. He certainly was suffering. He loved his boys so very much. Dave didn’t always openly show his feelings, but everyone knew that his boys were his proudest accomplishment in life. Nickolas and Nathan, your father loved you so, so much and he will always be looking out for you from heaven.

Surviving David are his sons, Nathan David and Nicolas Isaac Ortt; mother, Rebecca Sue Ortt; brothers, Matthew Paul Ortt and Christopher Lee Ortt; nieces and nephews, Emily Ortt, Brandon Ortt, Shelby Ortt, Eddie Smith, and Wyatt Ortt; uncles, Cubby Morris and wife Linda, Glen Morris, Bobby Morris, and Kenneth Morris and wife Jennie; aunts, Patty Haul, Bonnie Manning, Earlene Kunn, and Pammy Ivarson; cousins, Jonathan Morris, Jimmy Ruckle, and Ricky Davidson; special friends, Brandon Hardon, James Norris, and Douglass Norris.

Family will receive friends at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Avenue, Cumberland on Saturday, October 14, 2017 from 4 to 6 p.m. A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home following visitation.
