Edith was a life-long member of Living Stone Church of the Brethren where she was active in many functions. She sang in the choir, occasionally played piano, participated in the ladies quilting group, served as Deaconess and on committees. Her love of God and family was the foundation for living that she passed on to her children. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, Bill, who served as a delegate to several church conferences. She volunteered with the Salvation Army Ladies Auxillary, delivered Meals on Wheels and participated in PTA and scouting activities.
Edith loved to travel to visit family and enjoyed taking vacations and playing games with them. She and her husband, Bill, along with some friends, bicycled the entire C&O Canal towpath from Cumberland to Georgetown over the span of a summer. They both enjoyed square dancing and vacations at the beach on the Outer Banks, N.C. She loved singing, especially in church quartets and playing the accordion and piano. She enjoyed bowling with both church and PPG leagues and making ceramics with her sisters and close friends.
The last 17 years of her life had been a long journey battling dementia and other illnesses, but in the blink of an eye, her sufferings were transformed into rejoicing for she now resides with Jesus! The family would like to thank the staff of Allegany Health Nursing & Rehab Center for their care of Mom during her 3 year stay.
