HYNDMAN, PA – Elizabeth Mae (Miller) Johnson, 69, of Hyndman, PA, passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2017, at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center.

Born April 16, 1947, in Cumberland, MD, she was the daughter of the late William and Mabel (Shilling) Miller. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Johnson; daughter, Sherry Foor; and two brothers, Donald Brant and Arthur Brant.

Elizabeth was a graduate of Hyndman High School. She was a member of Calvary Bible Church and the Bedford RSVP Group. She was a volunteer at HRDC – Senior Citizens’ Center as well as at the Hyndman Library.

Elizabeth leaves behind one son, Sam Howsare, Frostburg, MD; one daughter, Debbie Atkinson, Frostburg, MD; one sister, Jane Troutman, Cumberland; one brother, Ernest Brant, Williamsport; four granddaughters, Mindy DeGroen, Michelle Zipp, Samantha Howsare, and Jennifer Jefferies; one grandson, Aaron Stickley; great-grandchildren, Chad, Paige, Patience, Gracelyn, and Sadie; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave, Cumberland, on Friday, February 3, from 4 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home Saturday, February 4, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Greg Miller and Rev. Ken Korns officiating. Interment will be in Hyndman Cemetery.
