CRESAPTOWN – Elwood Mosby Faulkner, 83, of Cresaptown, passed away on Friday, April 7, 2017 at the Western Maryland Health System Regional Medical Center.

Born on February 18, 1934 in Cumberland, Maryland, he was the son of the late Daniel Augusta Faulkner and Rose Etta (Boor) Faulkner. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sisters, Viola “Blackie” Winters, and Eleanor Nicholas; brother, Markwood Faulkner; and grandson, William Patrick Skelley.

Elwood was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was a lifetime member of the Cresaptown Eagles. He spent many years working for Lowe’s, and retired from the company.

Elwood is survived by his daughter, Rose King and husband, Bryan; son, Daniel Faulkner; and grandson, Talen Faulkner, age 10; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Friends and family will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 15205 McMullen Highway SW, Cresaptown, on Thursday, April 13, 2017 from 2 to 4 p.m.

A memorial service will immediately follow visitation, at the funeral home, at 4 p.m. with Rev. Harold R. McClay, Jr. officiating. Military honors will be accorded at the funeral home by the American Legion Post 13 Honor Guard.

Inurnment will be at the Maryland State Veterans’ Cemetery, Rocky Gap.
