Cumberland, MD- Evelyn Rae White, 87, of Cumberland, formerly of Old Furnace Road, passed away on Thursday, April 6, 2017, at the Allegany Health Nursing and Rehab Center.
Born July 25, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Audrey (Hott) Maravelis. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Warren E. White; a son, Roger White; a grandson, Scott Nickelson; and two brothers, Harry and Marshall Maravelis.
Evelyn “Rae” enjoyed her time at home with her family, friends, and employees of the Mt. View Community, formerly William Booth Towers. Then, for the past two years, she enjoyed living at the nursing home and spending time with the friends she made there. She was Protestant by faith.
She will be sincerely and indefinitely missed.
Surviving are her daughters, Linda Nickelson, Romney, WV, and Glenda White, Old Furnace Rd, WV; two sons, Brian White, Cumberland, and Warren White, Jr., Evansville, Indiana; three granddaughters, Ellen Nickelson, Romney, WV, Autum White and fiancé Jesse, and Sonya Turner Broadway and husband Daniel, Angleton, Texas; two grandsons, Paul Plummer, Jr. and fiancée Kristi, Lonaconing, and Keith Gaughan and wife Missy, Cumberland; 13 great-grandchildren, Alexis Gaughan, Andrew Gaughan, Alexander Nickelson, Paige Plummer, Jaden Smoot, Nevaeh Smoot, Kilton Eichelberger, Kamerin Nickelson, Vincent Greear, Joe Turner, Samuel Broadway, Jasper Broadway and Isaac Broadway.
In accordance with her wishes, Rae will be cremated.
Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
Family and friends are welcome to attend a graveside service that will be conducted on Monday, April 10, 2017, at 2pm at Fort Ashby Cemetery.
