WILEY FORD, WV – Franklin Theodore Walters, 57, of Wiley Ford, WV, passed away Thursday, March 23, 2017, at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center.

Born April 19, 1959, in Cumberland, MD, he was the son of the late Edna Lee (Lanan) and William Albert Walters. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a sister, Linda J. Tichenelle; brothers, Larry A. Walters, and infant brother, Walter W. Walters; and brother-in-law, Chester Porter.

Franklin attended Allegany High School. He served his country in the United States Navy in 1975. Franklin worked as an independent contractor; he enjoyed tinkering – taking things apart and putting them back together, building things with his own hands, carpentry, and repairing things around the house. Franklin was Pentecostal by faith. He loved to spend time with his friends at the VFW and the American Legion.

Surviving are his daughter, Stacey L. Walters, Cumberland; sister, Donna J. Porter, Cumberland; and brothers, William A. Walters and wife Johnna G., Cumberland, and Wesley A. Walters and wife Teresa M., Cumberland. Franklin is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Monday, March 27, from 4 to 6 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, March 28, at 1 p.m. with Pastor Caleb Shaffer officiating. Inurnment will be at Fort Ashby Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to help defray funeral expenses.
