CUMBERLAND – Herbert Lewellyn Mock, 85, of Cumberland, went home to be with his Lord on Monday, April 10, 2017, at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center.

Born August 25, 1931, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late John L. and Virginia Mae (Hite) Mock.

Herbert worked for CSX Railroad for 40 years before his retirement. He was a member of Graceland Baptist Church in Short Gap, WV.

Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Sara K. Mock, Cumberland; sister, Nellie Mae Mock, Cumberland; children, Michael Mock and wife Donna, Cumberland, David Mock and special friend Kimberly Lease, Cumberland, Butch Shoemaker and wife Keely, Westernport, and Dianne Strachan, FL; grandchildren, David A. Mock, II, and wife Kaydee, David J. Strachan and wife Taryn, Sarah A. Strachan, Kayla Shoemaker, Chase Shoemaker, and Megan Shoemaker; and two precious great-grandchildren, Aleena S. Mock, and Cullen J. Mock.

Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 15205 McMullen Hwy SW, Cresaptown, on Thursday, April 13, from 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday, April 14, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Dan Twigg officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.

The family would like to extend their special thanks and appreciation to the caring nurses and nursing assistants of the WMHS Hospice, Dr. Andrew Baum and personnel of the WMHS Emergency Room, the personnel of WMHS seven north, and the Cresaptown Volunteer Fire Department. The family thanks family and special friends for all of their prayers.
