CUMBERLAND – James Kelly “Bud” Hunt, Sr., 86, passed away Wednesday, June 28, 2017, at Cumberland Healthcare Center surrounded by his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

Born June 7, 1931, he was the son of the late James A. Hunt and Hazel (Kelly) Hunt. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his two brothers, James Hunt and William Hunt; and two sisters, Hazel Hemmis Hunt and Ethel Lopez Hunt.

Mr. Hunt is survived by his wife of 63 years, Villa Ann (Robey) Hunt; sons, James Kelly Hunt, Jr. and wife Bonnie, and Ronald Gordon Hunt; daughters, Mary Ann Hunt Baker and husband Scott, and Villa J. Hunt Cadle; seven grandchildren, Adam Hunt, Shawn Hunt and wife Jennifer, Rebecca Hunt Robey and husband Chris, Heather Baker Ward and husband Tony, Heidi Baker, Villa Addison Cadle, and Christopher Cadle; six great-grandchildren, Caitlyn Olivia Robey, Joey Scott Vargas, Aiden Hunt, Liem Hunt, Collin Ward, and Brayden Ward. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Hunt worked for CSX for 42 years, was an IBM clerk, was a Master Electrician in both Maryland and West Virginia, and owned Hunt’s Electric Service. He was a devoted Fort Hill football fan and will be deeply missed manning his usual spot at all the local games.

At Mr. Hunt’s request, there will be no viewing or funeral service, and he will be cremated. There will be a memorial service celebrating his life for family and friends at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Fort Hill F Club in his memory.
