FAYETTEVILLE, PA – Mary Pleasant Williams, 83, of Fayetteville, PA, formerly of Cumberland, MD, passed away Friday, April 7, 2017, at the Village of Laurel Run in Fayetteville, PA.
Born August 22, 1933, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late James Andrew Irons and Zella Grace (Wigfield) Irons. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Lee and Ernest Irons; and her son, David Wayne Jones.
She is survived by one brother, James Irons, Cumberland; daughter-in-law, Vicki Jones, Chambersburg, PA; nieces, Jamie Rice and Sheila Miller; and nephew, Roger Irons.
Mary was an excellent cook and was manager of Beverly’s Snack Bar on Uhl Highway for a number of years. She also worked several factory jobs in Cumberland and Frederick in later years. She loved horseback riding and was seldom without a horse or several dogs or cats as pets.
Family and friends will be received at Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave, Cumberland, on Saturday, April 15, from 10 to 11 a.m. The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. with Pastor Rob Mahovich officiating. Interment will be in Davis Memorial Cemetery.
