CUMBERLAND-Paul Kenneth Brockey, Sr., 93, of Cumberland, passed away on August 19, 2017, at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center.

Born on August 27, 1924, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Howard V. and Essie C. (Bramble) Brockey. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Charles “Jack”; his sisters, Virginia and Dorothy; and his grandson, Michael.

Paul was a United States Army Veteran who served during World War II.  He was a first class lineman for Potomac Edison Electric Company.  Paul was a member of Our Lady of the Mountains Roman Catholic Parish, Saint Patrick’s Catholic Church.  He enjoyed gardening, fishing, and camping.

Surviving are his wife of 70 years, Barbara Ann Brockey and Miss Annie; two sons, Paul Brockey, Jr. and wife Darlene, of Smithsburg, and Vincent Brockey and wife Beverly, of Cumberland; grandchildren, Timothy Brockey and wife Annie and Gizmo, of Middletown, Anthony Brockey and wife Crystal, of Boonsboro; great-grandchildren, Zachary, Natalie, Karlie, Jake, Kaige, Ella, and Addison; his brother, Robert “Bobby” Brockey, of Evansville, Indiana; his sister, June Ann Iliff, of Cumberland; nieces and nephews, Donna Bauman, Chris Ralston, Billie Williams, Jerry Brockey, and Jeffrey Brockey, all of Cumberland.

Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 15205 McMullen Highway, Cresaptown, on Monday, August 21, 2017 from 5 to 7 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Mountains, Saint Patrick’s Catholic Church, Cumberland, on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. Military Honors will be accorded at the church by Ft. Cumberland Post 13 Honor Guard.
