Oldtown—Paul S. Coffman, Sr., 92, of Oldtown, passed away on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at his home.
Born in Lahmansville, West Virginia on December 30, 1924, he was the son of the late Lillian Daisy (Rinker) and Warden Coffman. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wives, Theo (Lee) Coffman, and Cecelia (Nelson) Coffman; brother, Victor Coffman; and sisters, Jessie Coffman and Arvetta “Beanie” Lafferty.
Paul attended Oldtown School, and he was employed at Chemtron as a welder. He had worked at General Motors, Celanese, and the Kelly Springfield Tire Company. He was later employed by the Chessie System. Paul retired from Chemtron.
Paul was a member of the Church of the Triumphant and the National Rifle Association. The love of his life was hunting with his sons, and fishing.
He is survived by five children, Paul S. Coffman, Jr., Cumberland, Victor Michael Coffman, Ridgeley, WV, Ronald L. Coffman, Cumberland, Leslie D. Moreland and husband Roger D. Moreland, Jr., Slanesville, WV, and Terry W. Coffman, with whom he resided; grandchildren, Erin L. Outten, Tony J. Coffman, Priscilla S. Coffman, Jennifer A. Shockey and husband Jim, Aleeshia Ratchford, Joshua Coffman, Shoogan Coffman, Jennell Coffman, Hawk Coffman, Jared Coffman, Daniel Coffman, and Matthew Moreland; and several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Paul is also survived by Opal Coffman, and his brother, Ronald L. Coffman.
Pallbearers will be Paul S. Coffman, Jr., Terry W. Coffman, Roger D. Moreland, Jr., Jesse Shipe, Randy Shipe, Leland Shipe, and Wayne Woolridge.
Family will receive friends on Friday, September 15 from 5-8 P.M. at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Avenue, Cumberland.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at 1 P.M. with Pastor Tim Wotring officiating. Friends will be received hour prior to the funeral service.
Interment will be in Oldtown Cemetery.
