CUMBERLAND – Ray Owens Miller, 71, of Cumberland, passed away September 7, 2017, at his home.

Born in Cumberland on May 22, 1946, he was the son of the late Chester Martin Miller, Sr. and Juanita Eleanor (Sharon) Miller. In addition to his parents, he is together again with his wife, Linda Louise Miller; his brothers and sisters, Chester, Donald, Doris, Virginia, and Wanda Lee; and his half brothers and sisters, Dale, Orville, Bobby, Jean, and Eleanor.

Ray was a member of the Class of 1964 of Fort Hill High School. He loved to fish, especially at Rocky Gap State Park. He was also an avid Pittsburgh sports fan particularly the Steelers and Pirates. He enjoyed spending time with his friends as a life time member of the K-Bar. Ray was a member of Cumberland Grace Brethren Church. He really enjoyed going for rides. Above all else, he loved spending time with family, especially his grandchildren and their activities. Ray will be missed by many, and remembered for his wit and unique sense of humor. He surely knew how to make everyone laugh.

Ray is survived by his children, Lisa A. Keffer and husband Ted, Flemington, NJ, Michael Ray Miller and wife Shannon, Fort Ashby, WV, Tory K. Miller, Cumberland; grandchildren, Mariah Miller and husband Dylan, Madison Keffer and fiancé Brad, Mikala Miller, McKenna Miller, Haylee Morton, Macie Miller, and Hayden Morton; great-grandchildren, Rilynn, Oakley, and Teagan Miller; brothers and sisters Romaine Sherman, Kay Williamson, Joyce Nixon and husband Earl, Roy Miller and wife Brenda; along with a very extended family and large group of friends.

Family and friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A. 108 Virginia Ave, Cumberland, MD from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday, September 11, 2017.

A funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Mick Funderburg and Pastor Ray McCoy officiating.

The family would truly like to thank everyone that cared for Ray on a daily basis, there are too many to thank, your service is truly appreciated.

Pallbearers will be Ted Keffer, Dylan Miller, Brian Lepley, Jeff Stump, David Dyer, Jeremy Linaburg, and Brad Borstelmann.

Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.
